Fender has a new series of electric guitars out in the market called, the American Specials. An example from these series is the new Fender Special HSS Stratocaster®. What’s so special about this strat? Well, it now uses the Atomic humbucker for bridge pickups and Texas Alnico single coil pickups for the middle and neck pick up positions. This new breed of strat also uses the new Greasebucket® tone controls for the bridge and neck pickups. This new tone control system can roll out the treble without increasing the bass. Its body is made out of alder and is available in black and sunburst finish. The 22-fret neck is made out of maple and is in the 22.5” standard scale. The neck shape is what fender calls the modern c – shape; it’s thin from front to back but not as thin as shred guitars, just the right thinness.
This guitar has lots of cool features, modern tuners, vintage bridge and 22 jumbo frets and it sounds great too despite mixing a humbucker besides two single coils. By the way, HSS stands for one humbucker and two single coils. The new Fender American Special HSS Stratocaster costs around 1099 US Dollars.
